SHIP REVIEW

Fast boat (ferry) is the straight way to sail from Klaipėda to Nida with a shortstop in Juodkrante. For us, it took about 2 hours to reach Nida. This way of travel to Nida was re-established in 2014 (after more than 70 years break). The primary purpose of this project is to encourage people to leave their vehicles in Klaipėda and to travel by ships and ferries. 72 seats are available on board and ship can carry up to 43 bicycles. In the main deck of the ship is an indoor passenger saloon with panoramic windows and an open passenger deck with an observation platform.

TRAVEL TIPS

• Get your bicycle if possible. The majority of travelers take their personal or rent a bike when going to Nida. We didn't have bicycles and had to walk a lot of kilometers. With bicycles, everything would be easier. During our visit, it was free of charge to take the bike on the ferry.
• Food and drinks. The coffee maker can be found on the ferry. There is no possibility to buy any food on the ship, so if you think that you will not survive these two hours - take some snacks. Be advised that it is not allowed to eat inside the ferry (just outside the main room).
• Views are fantastic when traveling with SMILTYNE. Highly recommend!
