Mitchell Caverns Have REOPENED! After being closed for nearly seven years, Mitchell Caverns in Providence Mountains State Park have finally reopened and tours are getting filled up fast! Surrounded by Mojave National Preserve, they are the only limestone caves in California's state park system. It is truly a breathtaking experience to see these amazing caves with so many interesting and unique formations like cave shields, columns, cave coral and helictites, as well as the more common, yet still impressive, stalactites and stalagmites.
